Criticizing organizations’ negligence in air pollution management, Seyyed Mohsen Tabatabaei Mozdabadi said: Unfortunately, Only when the concentration of pollutants is alarming, the issue of air pollution becomes a priority while periodical policies just slows down the critical conditions.

He considered the rising costs of health departments, healthcare, closing businesses and social service centers as the negative effects of air pollution involved in raising the economic consequences of air pollution, he said: Pollution in Tehran on mortality rates increased from 150 to 180 and this means the loss of human resources as the most valuable assets of the country.

Referring to the university research results in estimating the costs of air pollution in Tehran in 2011, Tabatabaei said: according to this research accomplished by Tehran University researchers, the share of CO, SO2, NOx, and PM in Tehran was 0.18 and 0.71 respectively in 2011.

The results show that the external costs of pollution for four sprawling metropolis of Tehran, the figure amounts has been to 18.6 thousand billion Rials in 2011, he added: The number of 2002 was obtained with respect to the prices of the method based on actual inflation rate is estimated at 66.74 trillion Rials.
