The most notable example of this type of consumerism in our country is the consumption of cosmetic products, accounting for about one third of the total consumption of these products in the Middle East for Iran. Iran is the seventh consumer country of these products, and every Iranian household spends about 5 percent of its annual income on cosmetic and beauty products, while in Germany it is 1.5 percent and in England 1.7 percent, he added.

However, the consumption, which can turn into a driving force for economic and social development, is the consumption of domestic goods, as it brings about the wheel of employment and industry, and, on the other hand, promotes self-confidence and national pride. That is why the pattern of resistance economy, the progressive and comprehensive version of the transition to a sustainable economy in the country, thus emphasizes the concept of national production, and in this regard, the Supreme Leader named the slogan of new Iranian year 1397 as “Support for Iranian Product.” It goes without saying that this slogan has raised the responsibility of the people for the consumption of Iranian goods and encourages domestic producers to promote quality and competitiveness.

Therefore, it is obvious that any planning for the implementation of resistance economy model must be in the context of cities, and cultural development, especially culture-building in the field of consumption, as highlighted in general policy, in paragraph 8, must take place in cities.

On the other hand, the consumption of Iranian goods, as mentioned, will lead to the prosperity of urban economy through the prosperity of employment and the activation of various sectors of its industry and services.

Support for Iranian product has boosted production throughout the country, resulting in a slowdown in the process of immigration to large cities and, consequently, the reduction of social and economic damage on the periphery of metropolitan areas.

Supporting Iranian product leads cities to entrepreneurial and creative cities instead of consuming ones, making it easy to manage the city, he stressed.
